Alejandro Piedrahita

Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Finance Grupo Argos S.A.

Alejandro Piedrahita was born in Medellín on March 2, 1973. He graduated as a business administrator from Universidad EAFIT. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economic Development from the London School of Economics and completed the Advanced Management Program (PADE) at Universidad de La Sabana. Additionally, he participated in the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

He has over 20 years of experience in structuring and executing investment banking projects in capital markets, corporate finance, financing (syndicated loans and project finance), mergers, acquisitions, and derivatives.

Since June 2015, he has served as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Finance at Grupo Argos. Before assuming this role, he worked as Vice President of Capital Markets Structuring at Bancolombia Investment Banking since 2008. Prior to that, he held the position of Product Structuring Manager for Derivatives at Bancolombia S.A. and also worked as Director of Economic Research at Corfinsura S.A. and as Director of Special Projects at Susalud S.A.

He has been involved in academia and has been an adjunct professor at both undergraduate and graduate levels at several universities, including EAFIT, EIA, Universidad Nacional, Universidad Javeriana, and Universidad de Medellín.

He is currently a main member of the boards of directors of Cementos Argos S.A., Celsia S.A., Odinsa S.A., Aceros MAPA S.A., and Premex S.A.S. He is also a member of the Superior Council of Universidad EIA, the investment committee of Fondo Inmobiliario Pactia, and Corporación Surgir.
