  • The two companies and the Mayor’s Office reached an agreement that enables the completion of the road circuit as part of the plan to continue strengthening industrial, commercial, and residential development in this sector of Barranquilla.
  • The new road circuit will require a joint investment amounting to COP 15,000 million, generating around 150 new jobs for its construction.
  • New investments in industry, housing, and commerce are projected in the sector over the next decade.

Alejandro Char, Mayor of Barranquilla, Jorge Mario Velásquez, President of Grupo Argos, and Christian Daes, from Tecnoglass, announced an agreement for the construction of the road circuit between Vía 40, Calle 98, and Carrera 75A, as part of the 2024-2027 Development Plan.

These works will provide greater permeability to this northern sector of the city, offering a new alternative to improve mobility conditions by reducing travel times. The investment for the construction of the two new road sections by Grupo Argos’ Urban Development Business and Tecnoglass amounts to COP 15,000 million.

The new industrial, commercial, and residential developments included in the Land Management Plan (POT) for this area of Barranquilla contemplate significant investments for the next 10 years, which will strengthen the District’s revenue-collecting capacity while promoting the city as a business destination.

“We never tire of giving good news to Barranquilla. Through dialogue and joint construction, we are announcing the construction of two very important road sections to connect Vía 40 with Carrera 75A and Calle 98 in the northern road network of Barranquilla. This city is about investment, growth, development, and opportunities. Barranquilla is its people and its companies.”
