- The Mayor’s Office of Puerto Colombia and Grupo Argos visited the work this Wednesday, March 3, to see first-hand its progress.
- With an initial investment of COP 3,336 million, the work seeks the extension of Calle 2A connecting Carrera 20 with Vía 40, known as the Coastal Concession, improving vehicular and pedestrian circulation in one of the sectors with the greatest development projection urban development in the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla.
- According to the schedule, at the end of the first semester of 2021 this road would be opened, which will benefit the inhabitants of this sector of the municipality of Puerto Colombia.
This Wednesday, March 3, the mayor of Puerto Colombia, Wilman Vargas Altahona, visited the progress of the Prolongación Calle 2A project. The Grupo Argos project, which began in December 2020, is progressing satisfactorily by more than 40% prior to the start of paving, and in line with the established schedule.
Grupo Argos’ initial investment in this work amounts to COP 3,336 million. The extension of Calle 2A will connect Carrera 20 and the extension of Vía 40 or Coastal Concession. This construction is part of the San José del Norte Partial Plan and has the purpose of promoting the urban development of the municipality and impacting the urban mobility of the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla.

With this work, vehicular and pedestrian circulation will be improved by impacting one of the sectors with the greatest projection of urban development in the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla. In total, the work will initially have 0.6 kilometers of vehicular lanes made up of an eight-meter two-lane carriageway, a five-meter platform and an additional area for a second carriageway and platform that will be built in a future stage of the project. The new road connection will have a landscape proposal with high standards of urban design and road signs, which will facilitate connectivity and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of this sector of the municipality of Puerto Colombia.
