- Plantings began on April 8 and will be extended this week in six departments of the country.
- This initiative aims to promote processes of ecological restoration and protection of water resources in the hands of communities, local authorities and property owners who participate voluntarily in the different regions of the country.
- With more than 11.4 million trees planted voluntarily and the restoration of more than 6,000 hectares of forests in the last six years, Grupo Empresarial Argos continues to consolidate itself as the private organization that has contributed the most to the National Government’s goal to plant 180 million trees.
Grupo Empresarial Argos joined the National Sembratón promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development with the planting of 655,000 trees of native species in six departments of the country. With these plantings, the organization continues to position itself as the private actor that has contributed the most to the voluntary planting of trees of native species in Colombia with the planting of more than 11.4 million individuals between 2016 and 2021.
This initiative is part of the commitment of the businesses of Grupo Empresarial Argos to contribute to the restoration of strategic ecosystems, in line with the country’s climate change objectives and an additional effort of the company’s compensation strategy to mitigate the effects of climate change based on solutions based on nature and that will contribute to the goal of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030.

Among the species that are being planted hand in hand with allies and in joint work with the community are: Red Mangrove, Samán, Vainillo, Bucaro, Iguá, Gualanday, Cedro, Chirlobirlo, Nacedero, cajeto, among others. With this initiative, Grupo Empresarial Argos continues to promote processes of ecological restoration and protection of water resources through its Foundation and its businesses.
