- ‘Ayudar Nos Hace Bien’ is the campaign led by the First Lady, María Juliana Ruiz, which aims to bring food to the most vulnerable families in Colombia.
- The donation from the business group amounted to COP 400 million and was materialized through Fundación Grupo Argos y Celsia, Grupo Argos’ energy company.
- This donation is in addition to the more than COP 20,000 million that the Argos Business Group has contributed during the COVID-19 situation and that have been invested in strengthening the care capacity of the health system in Colombia and food aid to vulnerable families in the country.
Grupo Argos, through its foundation and its energy company, joined the campaign led by the First Lady, María Juliana Ruiz, “Ayudar Nos Hace Bien”, with the donation of COP 400 million to contribute to the food security of the most vulnerable families in the country. With the contribution, more than 2,300 food packages will be delivered to the families most affected by the economic effects generated by COVID-19 in 10 departments.
“All the efforts we can make during this situation are of vital importance to move forward as a society, that is why we have focused on supporting and leading initiatives that improve the conditions of the most vulnerable families in the country. Thanks to the sum of wills and teamwork with the public sector and private allies, we have supported more than 100,000 vulnerable families in Colombia who have stopped receiving income due to the situation. “

The contribution of Grupo Empresarial Argos is added to the more than COP 20,000 million that the organization has allocated to increase the capacity of the health system with the provision of ICU beds for hospitals, the provision of tests and equipment to increase the capacity of diagnosis of COVID-19, the delivery of personal protection items and the donation of food aid to vulnerable families in all regions of Colombia. In addition, thanks to the Un Llamado a la Empatía campaign led by Fundación Grupo Argos, 100,000 more families across the country have benefited from food aid.
The “Ayudar Nos Hace Bien” campaign confirmed in its most recent balance sheet that so far 946,961 food packages have been delivered to families in vulnerable conditions, in more than 1,000 municipalities in the country’s 32 departments.
