Grupo Empresarial Argos has invested more than USD 150 million in its share buyback programs, reaffirming confidence in its strategy and business plan

  • This amount represents 45% execution of Grupo Argos’ announced share repurchase program, 55% for Cementos Argos, and 26% for Celsia. The aggregated amount of these programs, on a consolidated basis, is up to COP 1 trillion.
  • The share buyback programs, combined with the execution of strategic transactions and the strong operational performance of its businesses, contributed to significant stock price growth since the buyback programs were announced. Grupo Argos’ preferred stock increased by 204%, while its common stock rose by 145%.
  • In the case of Cementos Argos and Celsia, their stock prices grew by 177% and 49%, respectively, since the announcement of the programs.

With the objective of continuing to unlock value for its shareholders, the companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos are making progress in executing their share repurchase programs, which were announced to the market in 2023 and have already surpassed USD 150 million in consolidated investments. Grupo Argos has repurchased more than 16 million shares, while Cementos Argos and Celsia have acquired over 47 million and 19 million shares, respectively.

This initiative, combined with the execution of strategic transactions and the strong performance of its businesses, has enabled the listed companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos on the Colombian Stock Exchange to achieve outstanding stock market performance, with double-digit growth over the past year.

Grupo Argos’ preferred stock registered a 204% increase, while its common stock rose 145%. Similarly, Cementos Argos’ common stock increased by 177%, while Celsia’s stock appreciated by 49% since the announcement of the program.

The share repurchase programs not only reaffirm confidence in Grupo Argos’ business plan and strategy, but also underscore the organization’s commitment to narrowing the gap between the fundamental value of its shares and their market valuation.
