Grupo Empresarial Argos' companies strengthened their performance in the S&P Global Sustainability Index and consolidated their leadership
30 September 2024- Grupo Argos achieved a score of 85 out of 100, maintaining the highest rating in the management of topics such as biodiversity and supply chain management. Additionally, it reported improvements in its performance in areas like occupational health and safety, and crisis and risk management.
- Cementos Argos received the highest scores in the social dimension, excelling in matters such as Human Rights, community relations, labor practices, and human capital management. In the environmental dimension, it stood out for its management of water resources, climate strategy, and energy use.
- Celsia excelled in its work on Human Rights, labor practices, and community relations. Its environmental performance was outstanding due to its water resource and biodiversity management, the implementation of an environmental management system, and climate strategy.
For 12 consecutive years, the companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos have been recognized for their performance and management of environmental, social, and corporate governance matters among more than 3,500 companies worldwide. The latest assessment by S&P Global confirmed the leadership of Grupo Argos, Cementos Argos, and Celsia in sustainability by awarding them outstanding scores exceeding 82 out of 100.
Grupo Argos achieved top scores in transparency and reporting, biodiversity, and supply chain management, while also reporting a 21-point increase in human capital management, an 11-point improvement in ethics and occupational health and safety, and a nine-point increase in crisis and risk management.
Cementos Argos obtained an overall score of 89 points, maintaining high performance in social and environmental dimensions, and achieving the highest possible scores in the areas of water, energy, and Human Rights. Meanwhile, Celsia excelled in managing its social and environmental matters, particularly in water, biodiversity, and community relations.
The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment evaluates the quality of a company’s sustainability management to identify opportunities that can strengthen their management and generate long-term value for their stakeholders. The excellent results of the companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos serve as a mark of assurance for investors, customers, employees, and strategic partners, reaffirming the importance of sustainable management and its alignment with responsible products, services, and processes.
