The project involved investments of over COP 9 billion and lasted four years.

  • The works, in addition to the construction of 2.4 kilometers of tracks, included the empowerment of 7,100 m2 of platforms, 12,500 m2 in parks and more than 370 linear meters of bicycle paths.
  • The new roads and public infrastructure will benefit more than 7 thousand residents of the Villa Carolina sector, in the north of the city, by connecting this urban development with the recently inaugurated Carrera 65.

Grupo Argos, together with the Mayor of Barranquilla, delivered 2.4 kilometers of new roads to the city to improve connectivity between the Villa Carolina neighborhood and the north of the city, as part of the urban development program that the company is carrying out in the capital of the Atlantic and that included the delivery of race 65 in August 2019.

This development, in addition to the construction of the tracks, included the structuring of a new system of parks and boulevards of 12,500 m2, complementing the offer of recreational areas existing in Villa Carolina and generating a dynamic public space with a contemplative and sporting vocation. The design of these new roads and parks include 7,100 m2 of new platforms, 370 linear meters of bicycle paths and the planting of more than 300 trees by Siembra Barranquilla, offering a pleasant and safe space for pedestrians and cyclists to circulate. For its construction Cemento Structural MAX was used, a product of the renewed portfolio of Cementos Argos, specially designed for the industrialized production of concrete and which stands out for offering greater efficiency and high resistance.

“We are proud to be part of the Barranquilla transformation by contributing our experience in infrastructure development. We know that the new roads will better connect the more than 7 thousand people who live in the sector, giving them access to Carrera 65, and that, in addition, they allowed us to build urban spaces designed and built with the intention of offering them new alternatives to continue improving their quality of life”. Jorge Mario Velásquez, President of Grupo Argos

With this investment plus the recently inaugurated new career 65, Grupo Argos completes more than COP 26 billion in new roads and public infrastructure in the capital of the Atlantico.
