In the third version of the Festival de Teatro San Ignacio, Grupo Empresarial Argos, Proantioquia and Comfama joined forces to recognize the resident theaters of the center of Medellín that for years have been in charge of giving life to the San Ignacio District through art and culture, through the ‘Algo Cruje’ award, as part of the cultural proposal of the Festival de Teatro San Ignacio.
Eleven dance and theater groups were convened for the recognition, with the aim of exhibiting their artistic proposals in a small format, inspired by the concept of recognition, in the ruptures that the arts have gone through during the quarantine, including the new experiments, creations and mixtures of formats and platforms.
The winning works were Memoria, by Elemental Teatro, Antínoo from the Matacandelas Theater, Silencio from the El Trueque theater and Cotidianas from Malas Compañías. The winners, in addition to receiving the economic stimulus of the award, will have a sample during the San Ignacio Festival, in which the public will have 24 hours to appreciate their proposals. The exhibition will be on October 10th, starting at 12:00 p.m., on the Sala Comfama YouTube channel.
“We are proud to be part of this project by which we reaffirm the commitment of Grupo Empresarial Argos with art, culture and heritage in Medellín. In the midst of the situation in which we live, it is very important to accompany and articulate experiences to strengthen cultural expressions and especially the theaters in the center, which have spent hard months due to the pandemic and that today we can support through the San Ignacio project to continue giving life to the heart of Medellín ”.
