Fundación Grupo Argos awarded 25 new higher education scholarships to young people in 11 departments of Colombia

• The students will join the eighth cohort of the Scholarships for Regional Development program that has promoted the higher education of 290 young people in the best universities in Colombia during the last six years.
• With the admission of new students, the Fundación Grupo Argos adds 195 active scholarship recipients who receive financial support for their training process.
• The investment of the Fundación Grupo Argos in the last 7 years amounts to more than COP 10,000 million and is part of its purpose of promoting the development of the territories through education.

Scholarships for Regional Development is the Fundación Grupo Argos program that seeks to contribute to the training of new professionals in the country, recognizing the efforts of young leaders in their communities through the provision of financial support to cover tuition and living expenses during their study period, in addition to comprehensive support to ensure permanence and completion of academic programs. The 25 new students will join the eighth cohort of the program that has promoted the higher education of 290 young people in the best universities in Colombia in the last seven years and that already has 49 graduated beneficiaries.

In this call, the Fundación Grupo Argos received 869 applications from high school graduates in the departments of Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Risaralda, Sucre, Tolima, Meta, Valle del Cauca and Guajira. The 25 scholarship recipients were chosen for their excellent academic performance and, once their training process is over, their commitment is to return to their territory with the purpose of working for the development of their communities.

With the aim of contributing to the training of upstanding professionals, the initiative also contemplates a mentoring program with collaborators of Grupo Empresarial Argos, who provide psychosocial support and professional guidance to the interns.
