For four days, more than 1,000 volunteers from Grupo Empresarial Argos participated in volunteer activities that benefited over 19,000 people in four countries in the Americas

  • This is the fourth consecutive year that the Grupo Argos Foundation has led this massive volunteer event in Colombia, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
  • In this edition, 27 simultaneous volunteer activities were carried out, focusing on environmental conservation, community infrastructure improvement, knowledge transfer, and the provision of potable water solutions.

For the fourth consecutive year, Grupo Argos Foundation led a massive four-day volunteer event, benefiting over 19,100 people in Colombia, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

This event achieved a record number of 1,050 volunteers from Grupo Argos and its businesses, Cementos Argos, Celsia, Odinsa, and Summa. They participated in 27 activities focused on environmental conservation, community infrastructure improvement, knowledge transfer, and the provision of potable water solutions.

As part of the overall results of this initiative, more than 4,000 mangrove seedlings were planted in the Mallorquín Swamp in Barranquilla and 1,685 native species trees were planted in Antioquia, Tolima, Valle del Cauca, and Risaralda. Additionally, improvements were made to six educational institutions, and community infrastructure was intervened and adapted in four departments of Colombia.

In Central America, activities included the adaptation of educational centers in Comayagua, Honduras, blood donation drives in the Dominican Republic, the construction of a concrete sidewalk for people with reduced mobility in Panama, and the cleaning and restoration of the La Vega State Forest in Puerto Rico.
